Happy New Year one and all. Despite the cold I've felt warm and well-worked during these first few weeks. "A poem for a father" and "Luke's poem" were born to great acclaim (Luke's was in fact my first Christening poem and went down a storm!); Dan enjoyed a public speaking session to prepare him for a conference in Seattle, and entrepreneurs were put through their paces in a group presenting workshop. It's been fun connecting with new business owners and clients alike. If you'd like a chat about anything I do, please get in touch.

November 2016

It's been a busy couple of months:

- I've written "A poem for Jane and Ian" and "A poem for Alie and Chris", both in celebration of marriage (read them here).

- I produced copy for Arinze Kene's good dog - https://www.londontheatre1.com/news/148113/good-dog-by-arinze-kene-uk-tour/

- I attended my first wedding fair at The Whitham, Barnard Castle, and hugely enjoyed meeting other business owners and clients.

- A night at Creative Women's Network proved useful in more ways than one - thanks to all involved.

- I have remade my website, to give you even more information about what I do, even more effectively. What do you think?

4 March 2016 - it's In Your Own Words' ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY TODAY!

I am so ecstatic to have made it to a year of business – and what a year. Filled with the energy your support and encouragement has given me, I have attracted several new customers and have been thrilled to write for:

2 mothers on Mother’s Day

1 brilliant birthday girl

1 happily graduated student (and her relieved parents)

5 beautiful couples

And verse in honour of a wonderful Grandmother.

2 clients grateful for what they have...

I want to thank all of you who have liked my social media pages, shared me with friends, even commissioned poems from me. Your enthusiasm has made me so proud and so grateful, and your suggestions for how In Your Own Words should move forward have really galvanized me for the future.

One year on seems as good as time as possible to announce that I’ve been accepted onto Hatch’s Incubator Programme for business development!

I am part of a group who will study together for 12 weeks, learning about branding, marketing, budgets, networking and much more. The programme boasts, among its prestigious alumni, a little magic music festival called ‘Leefest’…you might have heard of it.

First person to show me the receipt for their purchased tickets gets a free poem...

Here’s to the next year. I can't wait to work with you.

October 2015:
After a long, happy summer of acting, I was invited to teach Year 8s and 9s Shakespeare during September - what do you suppose were their biggest challenges? Not knowing where to look, fidgeting and speaking too quietly. Sound familiar? Don't forget I offer help with delivering speeches too! Make yours a memorable celebration with 'In Your Own Words'.

June 2015:
With several new commissions and a revitalised website, including new feature 'Case Studies' to give you the inside scoop on how and why I work, there has never been a better time to enlist the help of 'In Your Own Words' with your celebration.

April 2015:
I've shared Lauren's and Darren's poem with you on the homepage - it was great fun writing for a couple who were spoken so highly of by their friend Torty. We even engaged calligraphy company Embellishing the Ordinary to write it out in style! Check out Laura at www.embellishingtheordinary.com.

March 2015:
Thanks to your wonderful sharing, I received three commissions during my first five days of business, and two of these are now up on this website for you to see. Please check out Joan's poem and Trudy's poem. Here's hoping you too had a very Happy Mother's Day...what is your next occasion?

September 2014:

Beautiful beaus Niki and Stu are the couple of the moment. Having been featured in September 2014's 'Wedding' magazine, they are now also the poster couple for their Bournemouth wedding venue! Congratulations to the gorgeous couple - so pleased I was able to contribute to their wonderful wedding day. Writing their poem gave me the encouragement I needed to create this business!
